PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner which has improved characteristics such as electrification stability and which is required for electrophotographic techniques used in an image forming apparatus such as a copying apparatus and printer, and to provide a method for manufacturing the toner. SOLUTION: The toner is characterized in that the surface of a coloring agent 3 present in the toner 1 is coated with organic fine particles 4, and that the volume average particle size of the organic fine particles is 30 to 100 nm.
