PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system capable of reducing time and labor required for retrieving individual information while protecting individual privacy. SOLUTION: The navigation system is provided with a DVD 2 storing telephone numbers and individual information corresponding to the telephone numbers; a map buffer 10; a remote-control unit 4 for inputting a telephone number by a user; an input processing part 40; a connecting part 32 connected to a cellular phone 7 having a built-in memory storing telephone numbers and attached information; and an information retrieval part 30 for reading the attached information corresponding to the inputted telephone number from the cellular phone 7 and acquiring individual information when the attached information matches the individual information. The navigation system is constituted in such a way that predetermined navigation operation may be performed through the use of the results of retrieval acquired by the information retrieval part 30.
