PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover an ejection performance of all the ejection nozzles by preliminarily ejecting ink from a part of the nozzles and to suppress the running cost by reducing the amount of the ink consumed in the preliminary ejection in an inkjet recording means having an ejection mechanism which is so constituted that the plurality of ejection nozzles are provided in a single ink fluid path. SOLUTION: In this inkjet recording means 12, a plurality of ink ejection sections each consisting of the ejection nozzle 32 and a heating element 31 are provided to the single ink fluid path 40 and a common ink supply hole for supplying the ink to the ink fluid paths of the plurality of ejection mechanisms each having the above structure is provided. The plurality of ink ejection sections 31A, 32A, 31B, 32B are provided to each ink fluid path, and then a preliminary ejection operation for ejecting the ink from only a part of the ink ejection sections 31A, 32A of the plurality of ink ejection sections is carried out.
