PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aligning techniques for automatic alignment aligning at a low cost in a practical time without requiring intervention by a skilled worker even when there are many places and freedom degrees for alignment in a connecting process of a plurality of optical parts. SOLUTION: A waveguide 41, an optical fiber array 42 and an optical fiber array 43 are set on a fixing block 23, a first micromotion stage 21 and a second micromotion stage 22 of an aligning mechanism 20. In an alignment controlling section 10, the optical axes of the optical fiber arrays 42, 43 are finely moved with respect to the waveguide 41 by the first micromotion stage 21 and the second micromotion stage 42 while the intensity of the light emitting from a light source 11, passing through the optical fiber array 42, the waveguide 41 and the optical fiber array 43 and reaching a power meter 12 is observed. The axes are aligned to search the optimum positional relation of the optical fiber arrays 42, 43 with respect to the waveguide 41 and connected by means of genetic algorithm using the coordinates of the optical fiber arrays 42, 43 as genes and the intensity of the light as an evaluation value.
