PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for refolding, namely functionally activating an inactive protein, in which a higher-order structure is not formed, produced by Escherichia coli, etc. or a protein in which a three-dimensional structure is changed and deactivated by a certain kind of cause. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the method for activating the function and the activity which the protein has originally by treating the inactive protein, in which the higher-order structure is not formed, produced by Escherichia coli, etc. or the protein in which three-dimensional structure is changed and deactivated by a certain kind of cause with zeolite beta and a method for producing an active protein by utilizing the method. The present invention provides the method for activating a function of a new protein, having high general purpose property and universality and being simply and readily operatable and inexpensive and enabling repeated use of a function-activating agent, compared with conventional methods.
