PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire discharge processing machine which automates connection work of a wire having a wire feed pipe, prevents the wire from being caught in a processing mechanism portion when wire disconnection occurs, and is smoothly restored from the disconnection. SOLUTION: This control device performs the connection work to feed the wire 23 delivered from a wire feed reel 24 into a wire collection portion 26 by sequentially inserting it through an upper portion nozzle 21, and a lower portion nozzle 19 by control of the wire feed device 20. At the time of connecting action, the wire feed pipe 33 is moved to a first position in which the lower end portion is brought into contact with a wire receiving port 22a when the top end portion of the wire 23 is inserted in the wire receiving port 22a, and then the wire feed pipe 33 is moved to a second position located at an upper portion of an annealing electrode 47. Upon completion of the connecting work, the wire feed pipe 33 is moved to a process position positioned at more upward portion than a wire detection sensor 36 and at a lower portion of a wire disposal mechanism portion 50, thus maintaining a third position at the time of processing.
