PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-end side face milling machine which cuts a sheet-like workpiece from both sides to attain high dimensional accuracy and surface roughness without causing trembling. SOLUTION: This double-end side face milling machine is provided with: a working table 2 movable forward and backward with the workpiece W placed thereon; a pair of heads provided at the right and left of the working table 2 and movable right and left; and a clamping mechanism for fixing the sheet-like workpiece. The clamping mechanism comprises: a lower jig 3 fixed onto the working table 2 and placed on the workpiece W in the erected state; an upper jig 6 of plate shape for pressing the workpiece W on the lower jig 3 from above; an upper clamp cylinder 5 for lifting the upper jig 6; a lateral pair of clamping plates 23, 24 for clamping the upper jig 6 from the right and left sides; and a lateral pair of side part clamp cylinders 21, 22 for advancing and retreating the lateral pair of clamping plates 23, 24.
