1291169 Working stone INCA GES FUR VERFAHRENSTECHNIK MINERALISCHER STOFFE mbH 21 Dec 1970 [23 Dec 1969] 60474/70 Heading B5E [Also in Division B8] A method of manufacturing and packaging stone, such as sandstone, blocks having broken faces comprises compressing a blank of a crosssection corresponding to the format of the stone blocks to be produced and at least 50 cm. long, hardening the blank, breaking up the blank into like blocks 2 at least 1À5 cm. thick, and pressing and tying the blocks together with a resilient or elastic band 4, the complementary broken surfaces of the blocks being pressed together. The method prevents damage to the broken surfaces of the blocks which are used for facing interior or exterior walls. The end pieces 3 of the blank protect the ends of the package. Timber, cardboard or plastics plates may also protect the ends. The band 4 may be of plastics material or steel. The blank is broken into the blocks before or after the band 4 is fitted, the blank being broken by the cutters or shears of an impact machine, splitting or skiving means. |
