<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording material having a wide transparency temperature-range and a high contrast between transparent state and opaque state, in which material temperature can be easily controlled for repeatedly generating the transparent state and the opaque state even if a low molecular organic substance insoluble in a solvent or of low solubility is used, and a manufacturing method for the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the reversible thermal recording material which has a structure with an organic low molecular substance being dispersed in a resin matrix and has a reversible thermal recording layer capable of reversibly repeating the transparent state and the opaque state by a temperature hysteresis, a dispersion with one or more kinds of the organic low molecular substances of solid state being dispersed in a resin solution and a solution with one or more kinds of the organic low molecular substances separated from the organic ones in the dispersion being dissolved in a solvent are mixed.
