PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium substrate for an insoluble anode which places few loads on the environment in a manufacturing process and shows a superior anchoring effect to an electrode catalyst material on the surface. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes forming a roughness-adjusting layer 20 made of a sintered compact of a spherical titanium powder 21, on the surface of a titanium plate 10. The spherical titanium powder 21 to be used has an average particle diameter of 20 to 80μm. Thus, the roughness-adjusting layer 20 acquires such surface roughness as to satisfy an arithmetic mean roughness Ra of 3 to 8μm and a peak count Pc of 40 to 120/cm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
