PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder method Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconduting wire rod which demonstrates excellent superconductive characteristics as a wire rod having a stabilized copper, and is capable of making a secondary stack superconducting wire rod. SOLUTION: This is the Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wire rod that is manufactured by a method of manufacturing the superconducting wire rod using a powder. One or a plurality of pieces of core wires made of Nb or Nb group alloy are arranged in Ta or Ta alloy sheath arranged in a stabilized Cu sheath, and an alloy powder, an intermetallic compound powder or a mixed powder of at least one kind of metal out of Ta, Nb, and Ti and Sn is filled in the space formed between the Ta or Ta alloy sheath and the core material, and the wire rod which is shrinking processed of this is manufactured as a primary superconducting wire.
