PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device in which various servo operation can be performed surely. SOLUTION: The optical disk device is a CD-R drive device recording and reproducing an optical disk (CD-R), and can rotate the optical disk with the number of rotation of a plurality of stages. In this optical disk device, when the number of rotation of the optical disk is changed to a first target number of rotation from a stop state of the optical disk, the number of rotation of the optical disk is converged temporarily to a second target number of rotation, between t<SB>0</SB>-t<SB>1</SB>, various servo operation such as focus control, tracking control, and thread control, and various automatic adjustment such as calibration (adjustment of amplitude of a signal) and signal reference level adjustment for canceling (reduction) offset are performed.
