PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine which is convenient for purchasing commodities and where even an underage person, e.g. to whom sale is not permitted can confirm the remainder of a card in the vending machine where the commodity can be sold with a non-contacting recording medium in which remainder information and age information are recorded. SOLUTION: When screening with the non-contact IC card in a sales waiting state (S1), the remainder information and the age information are read (S2), and the remainder information is displayed (S3) on an amount display part 4. Next, age is checked (S4). When the sale is not permitted, the remainder information is displayed for a prescribed time, in order to confirm the remainder (S5).
