PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel adsorbent particularly a novel adsorbent preferable for hydrofluorocarbons. SOLUTION: The adsorbent contains an alkylammonium salt, preferably the alkylammonium salt represented by the following formula (1): R1R2R3R4-N+X-(1) (R1, R2, R3or R4is a hydrocarbon group and three or more of the groups have 1-5 carbon atoms; and X is an anion).
