NEW ANTIFUNGAL AND BACTERIOSTATIC AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe antifungal and bacteriostatic agent capable of directly being used for foods. SOLUTION: An ethyl alcohol preparation involving the present invention comprises 0.05-5%, preferably 0.1-0.7% terpene-based compound such as terpineol. A fatty acid flavonoid which is an ingredient derived from grape fruit seeds or various food additives or food flavors specified by laws may be added to the ethyl alcohol preparation. It was confirmed that the antifungal and bacteriostatic agent can directly be used for foods and the agent is extremely safe on food sanitation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
