METHOD OF REMOVING NONSPECIFIC SUBSTANCE

A solid-phase support having a hydrophobic substance, such as stearic acid, fixed thereto; and a method of removing from a sample a substance nonspecifically adsorbable onto a solid-phase support having a ligand fixed thereto, the method comprising treating the sample with the solid-phase support having a hydrophobic substance fixed thereto. According to the method, specific interaction between ligand molecules and target molecules can be analyzed. In the process for identifying/screening target molecules based on the specific interaction, the sample which can contain the target molecules is pretreated with the solid-phase support having a hydrophobic substance fixed thereto, whereby the substance which is present in the sample and nonspecifically acts on the ligand molecules can be removed or diminished.
