A television reception system includes a television reception device (100) and a remote control device (200). The television reception device (100) outputs a video signal and an audio signal of a broadcast wave received or a video signal and an audio signal inputted from an external electronic device (300) and radio-transmits the video signal and the audio signal. The remote control device (200) controls the operation of the television reception device (100), receives and outputs the radio-transmitted video signal and the audio signal. A power saving control device for the television reception system performs control to turn off power source of at least a part of means of the television reception device (100) when a predetermined instruction signal is received from the remote control device (200).
