<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric porcelain composition having a large Qmt and a small temperature coefficient. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric porcelain composition contains PbTiO<SB>3</SB>as a main component, an Mn compound, an Nb compound, and at least one kind selected from compounds of Mg, Sn, Cu, Zn, Fe, and Y. Thereby, a high performance piezoelectric porcelain having a low dielectric constant, a large Qmt, and a high Curie temperature can be obtained. Further, it is possible to make the temperature coefficient of resonance frequency small and to make Qmt very large by controlling the composition so as to have such compositional ratios that the content of the Mn compound is 0.05-2 wt.% expressed in terms of MnO<SB>2</SB>, the content of the Nb compound is 0.05-4 wt.% expressed in terms of Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, and the content of at least one kind selected from the compounds of Mg, Sn, Cu, Zn, Fe, and Y is 0.01-2 wt.% expressed in terms of MgO, SnO<SB>2</SB>, CuO, ZnO, Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, respectively, based on the content of the main component of PbTiO<SB>3</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
