<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input device which enables a user to input by handwriting in a way similar to writing on the surface of paper and which can accurately detect input coordinates. <P>SOLUTION: The coordinate input device comprises: an optical unit 102a; a blockage sensing part 203 for sensing that light emitted by a light-emitting part 102b is blocked; a pen signal receiving pat 107 for receiving a pen signal indicating that the coordinate input device which calculates and inputs the coordinates of the blockage sensed is touched with a pen; a blockage selecting part 205 for selecting one of the blockage sensed according to the timing of reception of the pen signal and the timing of detection of the blockage; and a coordinate calculating part 207 for calculating the coordinates of the position of the blockage selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
