PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of simplifying processing for edge enhancement and efficiently enhancing an edge using a spatial filter. SOLUTION: Spatial filtering for edge enhancement is performed. In properties of a spatial filtering unit 108 of an image processing apparatus 103, MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) within an error determination frequency band, where errors tend to occur in extracting edges, is flat, and the MTF of a spatial frequency below the floor value of the error determination frequency band is over 1.0.
