摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active high-purity secondary alcohol compound in high purity industrially useful as an intermediate for a medicine, an agrochemical or a perfume by asymmetrically reducing a ketone compound by using inexpensive and readily handleable trichlorosilane as a reducing agent. SOLUTION: An asymmetric ketone compound such as acetophenone, etc., is reduced with trichlorosilane in the presence of an optically active N-picolinoylpyrrolidine derivative represented by formula (1) (R is a 2-5C alkoxycarbonyl group, a 2-5C alkoxymethyl group or a hydroxymethyl group) such as picolinoyl-(S)-2-methoxycarbonylpyrrolidine.
