PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide touch-typing practice software that enables efficient character input on a personal computer keyboard. SOLUTION: For efficient input with keys of the personal computer keyboard, essential is touch-typing input wherein keys of the keyboard are typed without looking at the keys at each time. Originating from mechanical typewriters, an electronic keyboard has keys slightly shifted in position including the upper stage, intermediate state, lower stage, and stage of numbers. The shift is a hindrance to touch-typing input. There is home keys for a home position as a basic array in a keyboard input operation. Keys V, F, R, and 4, and M, J, U, and 7 in the upper, intermediate, and lower stages and the stage of numbers based upon the home keys F and J are determined as second home keys of a semi-basic array to remove the hindrance due to the slight shift. It is easy to remember keys related to the home keys and second home keys and oblique movement of fingers of both the hands and input operations are facilitated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
