FILE MANAGEMENT METHOD AND INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE

A file system control section is arranged in an information processing device performing data read out and recording from/to an information recording medium. File system control information is built up in the system memory in the information processing device. The file system control section unifies a plurality of information recording media separately managed by the file system into a virtually single file system to be controlled. Moreover, when a plurality of files having an identical name are found, the file system control section manages the priority sequence indicating the information recording medium to be used with a higher priority. This priority sequence can be modified according to a request from an application program. Thus, it is possible to perform unified management of a plurality of information recording media and the application can access all of the files having the same name.
