Holder for use when welding together two sections of continuous strip material (10, 11) comprises two support plates (12, 13) on either side of a central welding unit (20). These can swivel upwards about a central pivot, so that the strips are held at an angle to each other. An independent claim is included for a method for welding together two sections of continuous strip material using the holder.
