PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system having a high security property and capable of preventing a person intending to execute an unfair act from easily executing the unfair act even if he or she carries out modification or the like of an authentication device or a system of a retail shop.

SOLUTION: This authentication system is equipped with: the authentication device 3 having an authentication processing part for executing an authentication process for determining whether a user 2 is preregistered or not, and an information output part for outputting identification information of the user 2 when the user 2 is determined to be preregistered; and a server device 6 having an information input part for inputting the identification information of the user 2, a credit determination part for executing credit determination of the user 2 based on the identification information, and a determination result output part for outputting the determination result in the credit determination part.
