PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven chain gate capable of perfectly taking a safety measure, so as not to seriously damage a gatepost and a vehicle, by allowing one end of chains to be surely disconnected from a hook member, when a connecting member ruptures, since a prescribed load acts by a collision of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The chains are extended in a height position capable of checking the passing of the vehicle between two gateposts arranged at a prescribed distance capable of passing the vehicle. The hook member connected to one end of the chains is arranged in at least one of the two gateposts, so as to be vertically movable by operation of an electric motor. One end of the chains and the hook member are connected via the connecting member 41 such as a shackle. Fragile parts 43e and 43f rupturing when the vehicle collides with the chains, are respectively formed in at least two places of this connecting member 41. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
