The system for producing packages with contents which are specific to different customers comprises a supply system (1) for articles (2) and a second supply system (3) for packaging (4). The articles are assembled according to the customer's requirements in a collection zone (1a) and a transfer system (5) passes the articles to a workstation (9) within the reach of an operator (9a) who packs them in a customized package (7). Independent claims are included for: (a) a carton for use in the system; and (b) a method for packing articles using the system.
