In producing a side-reinforced type run-flat tire where a side-reinforcing rubber layer with a substantially crescent-shaped cross-section is interposed between a carcass and an inner liner of a tire side portion, first drums (11a, 11b) for adhering side-reinforcing rubber (2A) are structured such that the diameters of the drums have substantially no change in the axial direction. Further, diameter expansion operation of the first drums, operation causing the first drums (11a, 11b) to approach each other, and operation causing bead grasping rings (30A) approach each other are synchronized so that an inner peripheral surface of a carcass member (4A) is tightly pressed and adhered to an outer peripheral surface of the side-reinforcing rubber (2A). As a result, the tire can be produced using a multi-size mixed flow production system constituted of minimum equipment, and no air collection points and wrinkles are produced between the carcass member (4A) and the side-reinforcing rubber (2A).
