<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the electrophotographic printer capable of preventing a photosensitive medium from being damaged due to mutual interference between the photosensitive medium and a pre-transfer destaticizing unit when attaching/detaching consumables such as the photosensitive medium, a developing unit and transfer medium. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic printer is provided with a photoreceptor drum 1, on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, and at least one developing unit 4, in which toner is fed to the electrostatic latent image to perform a development, and includes a pre-transfer destaticizing unit 10 for irradiating the photoreceptor drum 1, on which the toner image is formed, with light by the developing unit 4 to remove the charge in a range where the toner image is not formed. The pre-ransfer destaticizing unit 10 is provided with a pre-transfer destaticizing lamp 41 and a pre-transfer destaticizing lens 42, which is moved from a destaticizing location, adjacent to the photoreceptor drum 1, and conducting the light radiated from the pre transfer destaticizing lamp 41 to the photoreceptor drum 1, to an evadinglocation being away from the photoreceptor drum 1 to be linked to the attaching/detaching action of the developing device 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
