<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for differentiating a breed of cattle on which beef is based, especially deciding whether a specimen of the cattle is Japanese black cattle or not. <P>SOLUTION: This method for differentiating the breed of the cattle comprises deciding whether the specimen of the cattle is the Japanese black cattle or not, wherein a gene DNA of the specimen is detected from gene polymorphs comprising 1. bases in the 164-166 positions of sequence number 2; 2. a base in the 589 position of sequence number 4; 3. bases in the 560-568 positions of sequence number 6; 4. a base in the 445 position of sequence number 8; 5. a base in the 344 position of sequence number 10; 6. a base in the 524 position of sequence number 12; 7. a base in the 734 position of sequence number 14; 8. a base in the 1212 position of sequence number 16; 9. a base in the 1051 position of sequence number 18; 10. a base in the 633 position of sequence number 20; and 11. bases in the 202-204 positions of sequence number 22, by using one or more kinds of the polymorphs as indicators. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
