<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device having a high degree of flexibility in vehicle mountability, which is capable of reducing an initial air bag deployment speed. <P>SOLUTION: In a deployed state of the air bag 23 of the air bag device 21 provided in the instrument panel 16 of a vehicle 11, a front side expansion part 29, left and right side expansion parts 30, 31, and a rear side expansion part 32 are formed by an outside sheet 25 and a second front face outside sheet 26, and an inside sheet 27 and a second front face inside sheet 28.
