PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To culture a plant without applying water for a long period by using a commercially available pot as it is and applying water with a string. SOLUTION: A lid 12 is placed on a culture solution tank 11, a pot pan 13 is placed on the lid, a water-absorbing ribbon string 15 is suspended by passing through holes 13a, 12a formed on the pot pan 13 and the lid 12, and a water-absorbing cushioning pad 16 is placed on the water-absorbing string 15. When a commercially available potted plant 14 is placed on the pot pan 13, the water-absorbing pad 16 is compressed in the pot-bottom space 18d of the pot 18 to cause the contact of the water-absorbing string 15 with the pot bottom 18a. The culture solution in the culture solution tank 11 is absorbed to the water-absorbing string 15 and supplied from the pot bottom 18a to the pot soil 19 through the water-absorbing pad 16.
