PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eave soffit ventilator having a fire protecting means which does not cause any problem in an operation for cutting out a flow passage for outside air. SOLUTION: A shutter device 3 is installed in a ventilation frame 2. The ventilation frame 2 comprises a portion for mounting on an eave soffit side. The shutter device 3 comprises a base plate for mounting the device on the ventilation frame 2 and a shutter plate 15 slidably moving while coming into surface contact with the base plate. A pull spring 16 energizing the shutter plate 15 in the closing direction and a temperature fuse for maintaining the shutter plate 15 in the opened state are installed between the shutter plate 15 and the base plate 14. The shutter plate 15 is hard to collide with the other part since it is slidably moved. The ventilation frame may be utilized by mounting it alone on the eave soffit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
