METHOD FOR PRODUCING HALOGENATED NUCLEOSIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a halogenated nucleoside of a high-purity stable isotope from an expensive metal halide of the high-purity stable isotope. SOLUTION: A metal halide and an oxidizing agent are made to act on a nucleoside in a solvent to oxidize halide ions in a reaction system. The oxidized halogen atom is directly reacted with the nucleoside to thereby produce the halogenated nucleoside containing the high-purity stable isotope element. The metal halide can directly be converted into the halogenated nucleoside without converting the metal halide into other active intermediates by using the method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
