<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for supplying a fuel gas to a fuel cell system which uses the fuel gas containing a sulfuric odorant, without using a sulfur sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with first and second gas containers 2 and 3 in which the fuel gas containing sulfuric odorant is filled, an automatic switching adjuster 4 composed of a switching mechanism for automatically selecting between the first and second gas containers 2 and 3 and a depressurizing mechanism which depressurizes the fuel gas of high pressure which is filled in the first or second gas container to supply it to the fuel cell system, a remaining amount detecting means 51a which senses that the remaining amount of fuel gas in the first gas container 2 falls to a first prescribed value, and a drive means 4A which drives the switching mechanism to switch from the first gas container 2 to the second gas container 3 upon the detection signal from the remaining amount detecting means 51a.
