<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of detecting a toner supply container being misloaded by providing an electrode and a coil for forming electrostatic capacity in the toner supply container, arranging a detecting circuit outside the container to detect a resonance frequency, and setting a different frequency for each type of image forming apparatus once detecting whether nonmagnetic toner is present. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus in which the toner supply container 5 for supplying charged toner to develop an image is detachably loaded comprises a resonance circuit which is provided inside the toner supply container 5 and to which a coil 20 and a capacitor varying in electrostatic capacity with the amount of toner in the container 5 are connected, the detecting means 21 which detects variation in resonance frequency of the resonance circuit varying according as the electrostatic capacity varies, and a decision means of detecting whether toner is left in the toner supply container according to the detection result of the detecting means 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
