<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus ensuring sure functions, simultaneously enabling compact configuration, easily operable and capable of producing products at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing rod-shaped tobacco products namely a filter-mounting apparatus is provided. The apparatus has a so-called drum course 18 comprising many drums 17. At least one drum 17 of the drum course 18 can be driven by an additional separate driving means 19 and the separate driving unit 19 forms a driving unit 33 with a drum unit 27 comprising the drum 17 and a bearing and restraining flange 25.
