<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting tire abrasion capable of detecting a progress state of abrasion of a tread section, and to provide a pneumatic tire having a sensor for the device. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has the sensor 6 that is buried under a tread rubber layer 10 of the tread section 9 and has a resisting means 4 having a plurality of conductive rubber resistors 3 interconnected in parallel, a transmitting section 8 for transmitting a detection signal of the sensor 6, a receiving section 17 for receiving the detection signal from the transmitting section 8, and a processing section 18 for processing the detection signal from the receiving section 17. In the sensor 6, the conductive rubber resistors 3 are sequentially attached and detached by abrasion of the tread rubber layer 10, thereby varying the resistance of the resisting means 4 and size of the detection signal to be transmitted to the transmitting section 8. The processing section 18 determines the abrasion state of the tread rubber layer 10 based on the value of the detection signal and a plurality of preset thresholds. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
