PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which a filter is made exchangeable and an optical wave can efficiently betransmitted. SOLUTION: In this optical module, the optical waveguide housings 5a, 5b for holding optical waveguide substrates 4a, 4b in which optical waveguides 6a-6d are formed are arranged so that one end faces of the substrates 4a, 4b are placed opposite to be slidable with each other. By sliding the optical waveguide housings 5a, 5b, a filter 8 that transmits one specific optical wave or a plurality of optical waves with mutually different wavelengths is held between the end faces of the substrates 4a, 4b, in the structure of the optical module.
