PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire for an automobile with a tread pattern having four or more circumferential grooves provided side by side in a tire width direction excellent in a groove wandering property. SOLUTION: The tire for the automobile has the four or more circumferential grooves provided side by side in the tire width direction and the tread pattern satisfying an expression (1). In the expression, W is wandering performance index calculated in an image analyzing process by the transfer of a tread pattern image and a rain groove image, p is pixel size (mm) used for image processing in calculating the wandering performance index, L is ground contacting length of the tire (mm) and "a" is a coefficient of 0.6 to 0.7.
