PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stud welding equipment that enables a stud length to be reduced without complicating welding gun structure. SOLUTION: In the welding gun 10, a collet for holding a stud with a flange and an axis at the distal end of the welding gun is composed of a first and a second collet 17, 22. The cylindrical first collect 17 is fixed at the distal end of the welding gun, elastically expanding in a diameter larger than the stud flange and holding the flange at the distal end. The cylindrical second collet 22 is fixed at the distal end of a piston rod 21 which extends to the first collet from an air cylinder 11 installed in the rear part of the welding gun, scooping to store and hold through a piston movement the axis of the stud which is supplied inside the first collet 17 with the flange at the front. A collet cover 18 is provided surrounding the outside of the first collet 17 from the distal end. The distal end of the collet cover 18 and that of the first collet form a flange edge holding space 54 which houses and retains the edge of the stud flange so as to hold the end of the stud axis in a posture floating from the inside wall of the first collet.
