PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal which enables a user to select an appropriate move or connection form matching the communication state. SOLUTION: A portable communication terminal 101 can select either a fixed mode for communicating only within a fixed zone or a mobile mode for continuously communicating while moving and can select one of the various connection forms using a portable terminal communication terminal S1, PHS(R) communication network S2, a cable communication network S3 or the like for communications. Further, the portable communication terminal uses a local connection means such as an optical communication means 902, an infrared communication means 903, a cable LAN means 904, a wireless LAN means 905 and the like to select a form for connection to the portable terminal communication network S1. The communication terminal 101 is notified of information reporting the area where an excellent communication state can be secured, and information reporting a connection form where the excellent communication state can be secured, among a plurality of connection forms from a control unit 301, and a user moves or changes a connection form on the basis of such information, thereby obtaining the excellent communication state.
