PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a stand-by time in a device for reproducing digital audio. SOLUTION: This method for reproducing digital information comprises a process in which the storage of information from the outside of a device main body 1 to a hard disk drive 2 is completed, and simultaneously a control circuit 4 transfers the information of the hard disk drive 2 to a memory 3 based on the order or kind of information to be reproduced and a process in which the information is reproduced from the memory 3. Also, this method comprises a process in which the control circuit 4 transmits a signal indicating the completion of the transfer of the information to the memory 3, and notifies it to a user.
