LINEAR COMPRESSOR AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear compressor and a control method thereof, accurately determining the load state without influence from the external environment and controlling the stroke of a piston excellently. SOLUTION: This linear compressor includes: a core part having a core connected to one side of a vertically reciprocating piston for detecting the position of the piston; and a bobbin having a first sensor coil and a second sensor coil for sensing the position of the core. The compressor includes a control part for measuring the amount of in and out time when the core goes in and out of the bobbin from the suction stroke of the piston to the compression stroke thereof to determine the load state of the piston and control the position of the piston on the basis of the load state.
