PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine in which in-cylinder flow of proper strength can be formed without limiting intake flow. SOLUTION: An edge 11a is formed on the exhaust port side of a cavity 11 above a piston 3 to restrict collision of reverse tumble flow F1 formed on the side of an intake port and a normal tumble flow F2 formed on the side of an exhaust port.
