PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a household garbage treating device which is a garbage treating device utilizing metabolic activity of a microbe, can easily be used at an ordinary household, not consumes electric power, not generates a bad smell, and also can completely eliminate the household garbage in a short period of time. SOLUTION: In the household garbage treating device, a decomposing treatment tank is formed of an air permeable member and also a manual agitating mechanism is provided, thereby enhancing the metabolic activity of microbes having organic material decomposing ability and shortening the time required for decomposition.
