<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device in which the stability and reliability of a circuit formed on a nonmetal plate are enhanced by dissipating heat generated from a heat generating part of the nonmetal plate efficiently, and to provide a motor drive and an electric power steering system. <P>SOLUTION: A circuit pattern 32 of copper or the like is formed on the upper surface of an insulating glass epoxy substrate (nonmetallic substrate) 30. An insulating green mask 34 is formed on the outer surface of the glass epoxy substrate 30 where the circuit pattern 32 or the majority thereof is not formed and a semiconductor element, e.g. a transistor, is mounted at the part of the circuit pattern 32 where the green mask 34 is not formed. On the other hand, a circuit pattern 33 of copper or the like is formed on the lower surface of the glass epoxy substrate 30, an insulating glass epoxy cloth 36 is formed on the outer surface of the glass epoxy substrate 30 where the circuit pattern 33 or the majority thereof does not exist and a semiconductor element, e.g. a transistor, is mounted at the part of the circuit pattern 33 where the glass epoxy cloth 36 is not formed before a metal plate 38 is fixed to the outer surface of the glass epoxy cloth 36. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
