<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with which optimum image forming conditions can be selected according to an object of a user and the image formation meeting the object and liking of the user can be performed. <P>SOLUTION: An IOT control section 8 checks the effectiveness of the combination of the image information relating to an output image and the priority mode assigned by the user and selects the image forming conditions previously stored in correspondence to the priority mode of the combination if the combination is effective. The IOT control section selects the image forming conditions of the predetermined system priority mode relating to the unselected image forming conditions. Also, if the combination is ineffectual, the image forming conditions stored in correspondence to the priority mode of the combination is not selected.
