Dye-fixer for tufted carpets made of polyacrylic fibres in the parent patent is modified to prevent loss of steam, compaction of pile or running on contact with water by extending the end wall at the outlet from the evaporator downwardly towards the water sump to form an outlet slot for the carpet in conjuction with a short upstanding wall, a buffer store loop control device being disposed below the lower lip of the depending end wall. |
