<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user interface superior in operability, in a control system equipped with a user interface capable of inputting a user's instruction by a shape or an action of a part to be input, including a part of the user's body and an object operated by the user, or a distance to the part to be input, and a method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A non-contact type input device 26 that detects a shape or an action of a part to be input, including at least a part of the user's body or at least a part of an object operated by the user, or a distance to the part to be input, is placed inside a display screen 34 of a display device 32. An analysis part analyzes the shape or the action of the input part, or the distance to the input part that have been detected by the non-contact type input device 26, and judges the user's instructions.
